PROTESTING ETHNOCAPITALISM: LESSONS OF POST-CONFLICT GOVERNANCE IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

A Talk with Jasmina Husanović on Thursday, March 15, 2018, 12-1 PM

Assembly Hall, Bechtel International Center, 584 Capistrano Way, Stanford University

You are invited to a talk that will critically engage with the key lessons- failures and successes, of governing Bosnia and Herzegovina by local and international elites and particular mechanisms of governance in the “post-conflict” period. It reflects on the causes and impact of protests and plenums in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2014 from a particular angle, considering the amalgam of ethno-nationalism and neoliberalism in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Jasmina Husanović is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and a Chair of Cultural. She she is currently a Fulbright Visiting Scholar hosted by the Center for Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies (CREEES), Stanford University.

Professor Husanović aims to initiate a discussion on collaborative forging of knowledge about grassroots activism and revolt, focusing on the role of affective economies and infrastructures that foster an emancipatory change aiming at solidarity and equality.
