National Resource Centers

The Center for Russian and East European Studies at Stanford University has been designated one of 17 Russia and East Europe National Resource Centers (NRCs) by the U.S. Department of Education under Title VI of the Higher Education Act. An NRC in East Asian Studies is also located at Stanford. The purpose of the NRC program is to train specialists in modern foreign languages and area studies. Grants are awarded to institutions of higher education for the purpose of establishing, strengthening and operating comprehensive centers focusing on language and area studies.
