History Professor Norman Naimark publishes new book on the History of Genocide

Professor Norman Naimark’s newest book, Genocide: A World History, was released by Oxford University Press on December 1, 2016. As stated in a recent interview with Stanford Global Studies, his 192-page work “examines the main cases in the history of genocide from ancient times to the present.” In the interview, Naimark outlines his motivation for writing the book, addresses his particular use of the term “genocide,” and explores the questions of what allows genocides to occur and what interventions can be made to stop such atrocities from arising in the future.
