CREEES Summer 2009 Travel/Research Grants for Stanford Graduate Students
Deadline: March 16, 2009
The Center for Russian, East European & Eurasian Studies can offer up to $2,000 support for research travel in East Europe or the former Soviet Union. (Appication attached). The deadline for applications is March 16, 2009.
CREEES Grant Eligibility * Students should be enrolled in a graduate program at Stanford and plan to continue their studies in the following academic year. Students should be focusing in their research on the countries of East Europe or the former Soviet Union. The CREEES grant does not prohibit a student from receiving another fellowship during the grant award period, but students are prohibited from "double-dipping" of fellowship funds. For instance, the CREEES travel and research grant will not pay for travel expenses if the other funding source covers the student's same expenses. A CREEES travel and research grant will not be awarded to a student who is receiving sufficient support from another funding source. Applicants must submit the following:
1) APPLICATION FORM
2) STATEMENT OF PURPOSE (a 1-2 page statement of purpose outlining your research objective and how the proposed project fits into your long-term research agenda)
3) LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION FROM STANFORD ADVISOR (use attached form in the application form)
4) OFFICIAL COPY OF LATEST TRANSCRIPT (requested from the Registrar)
5) BUDGET (transportation, lodging, food, research expenses)
6) grant recipients are required to submit summer research reports upon completion of the summer research.
