GRADUATE STUDENTS:
2010-2011 Academic Year FLAS Fellowships
Professional school students (law, medicine, education, business) are
especially encouraged to apply. Graduate students pursuing advanced degrees
in H&S, Earth Sciences, and Engineering are also eligible. FLAS
fellowships, authorized under Title VI of the Higher Education Act and
administered by the U.S. Department of Education, provide tuition and
stipend to students undergoing advanced training in designated foreign
languages in combination with either area studies, international studies, or
international aspects of professional studies.

FLAS 2010 Summer Fellowships for Graduate Students
The US Department of Education Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowships
are for all levels of intensive language study in most languages of Russia,
East and Central Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia.
The fellowships provide summer tuition plus a $2500 stipend.

$2,000 in support for research travel in Eastern Europe, or the Former
