Competition over two critical resources, fossil fuels and water, will determine the future of extremely volatile regions of Eurasia and the Middle East, with also critical global implications. While a visiting scholar at CREEES, Dr. Suhnaz Yilmaz will conduct two interdisciplinary research projects, each analyzing the strategic, political, socio-economic and environmental impact of energy resources. The first project focuses on energy politics in Eurasia and the implications for regional and global energy security. The second project addresses the hydropolitics of the Tigris and Euphrates and the EU role in conflict resolution. The first project is on Energy Politics in Eurasia and its implications for regional and global energy security. The second project is on the Hydropolitics of the Tigris and Euphrates and the EU role in conflict transformation.
